Future project – Who are you? How are you?
This is a project aimed to support children, families and adults recovering from or learning to live with critical illness. Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) offers a safe and creative space, within a life of health related appointments, to connect with one’s self and with those around you. DMP offers a regular time where you can explore your inner strength, find out about your personal preferences that are being continually expressed through movement, and discover what makes you unique.
DMP believes that by creating change in body action and reaction, shifts take place in a person’s thinking and patterns of relating. When the mind, body and spirit work together people develop a healthier self image, improve communication skills and discover greater emotional stability. In the face of ill health and learning to manage long term physical conditions it is vital to remember who we are and who we want to become.
